“I’ll be turning 40 in August—and what better way to celebrate than by dancing at Flama, my beloved workplace and dance studio.
To celebrate, there will be two workshops on dance styles that hold a special meaning for me.
Show jazz is the style with which I began my career as a dance instructor over 20 years ago. Voguing, on the other hand, was the first style I taught at Flama when I started working here in 2019.
Now is a great chance to join classes for styles I don’t normally teach anymore. Come celebrate with me through dance!”
Schedule for Saturday, the 8th of August
11.00–12.15 Show Jazz (open level)
12.30–13.45 Voguing (avoin taso)
Duration: 75 min / workshop
Place: Flama Rauhankatu (Rauhankatu 15, Turku)
Price: 21 €/workshop
Lotta 40 years – Birthday Dance Special
Show Jazz
In the Show Jazz class, we start with a warm-up, move on to exercises across the studio, and finish by learning an energetic routine.
This is an open level dance class, and it’s perfect for you if you already have some dance experience.
Voguing
In the voguing class, we’ll dive into the world of ballroom culture and explore vogue femme as a dance style. We’ll go over the history and significance of the style and learn the five elements of vogue femme through hands-on exercises.
The class focuses on self-expression and attitude—everyone is welcome to come as they are and find their own way of moving. The class is open level, and no prior experience with voguing is required.
Lotta Lähteenmäki
