Set your femininity free! Show Burlesque classes are show dance classes with feminine expression that draw inspiration from the world of burlesque art. In the class, you will explore your own expression and practice the trickery and seduction familiar from burlesque.
This course suits everyone, so you do not need any previous dance experience to join.
Time: Mondays 18.3.–20.5.2024 at 20:15–21:10 o’clock
Place: Flama Rauhankatu, hall 2 (Rauhankatu 15, 20100 Turku)

The course fee includes 9 x 55 min sessions. There is no class at Easter, the 1st of April 2024.
Take knee pads or leg warmers with you to class. You can buy knee pads from our webshop or from our studios.

You can dance with your socks or toe pads, we do not recommend that you wear any dance sneakers in these classes. Normal comfortable sportswear is fine for the class, but if you want you, can also wear something matching the theme, for example fishnet tights. Remember a water bottle too.
Bring knee pads or leg warmers to protect your knees. You can buy knee pads from our online shop, or at our studio (30 €/pair).
Show Burlesque combines show dancing with the fascinating flirting, seduction and flirting of burlesque.
Mirka has a long history of different dance styles. She started dancing at the age of seven with ballroom dancing and continued until her teenage years. Mirka found dancing again in 2010, and she fell in love with Latin dances, especially Cuban dances. After that, she has danced many different dance styles. However, Show Burlesque took her heart and gave a whole new meaning for dancing.
As a teacher, Mirka is compelling and purposeful but still easy-going. There is always a cheerful atmosphere in the classes. It is important to Mirka that the joy of dancing is present in her teaching, as well as the enjoyment of the music, own movements and the crossing of boundaries.
Mirka has taught different kinds of Latin dances and Show Burlesque at Flama from 2018.
