Description

CONTEMPORARY DANCE

Contemporary Dance is a so-called umbrella style under which several different dance styles can fit. Contemporary Dance is influenced both by art and different dance styles. In the classes, you get to know the economic use of your own body and the utilization of gravity in movement. Floor work is also an important part of the lessons. The lessons also include various guided improvisation exercises, which allow the dancer to release their own creativity. At the end of the class, the things learned in the class will be used in a choreography.

PAULIINA LATVA

Pauliina Latva is a versatile dance artist and dance teacher who is also a professional physiotherapist. Over the years, she has practiced a variety of dance styles, which have influenced her current way of dancing and moving. While studying dance in New York in 2016, she was particularly inspired by the Heels technique, which she has been particularly immersed in over the last few years. In addition, she has worked in numerous dance projects and productions both as a dancer and a choreographer.

As a teacher, she is present and encouraging. Teaching dance has been a significant factor in her dancing for a long time. In her teaching, she is currently interested in exploring the concepts of encounter, connection, and cohesion. During her classes, she makes use of her extensive skills and guides everyone to move while listening to their own body.
