Forró – Brazilian pair dance with a close embrace and emphasis on connection and sharing.
Forró is a Brazilian pair dance with a close embrace, like hugging in motion. The basic Forró step is simple and easy to learn, even though there are several styles, and faster and slower rhythms within Forró. The most important things are enjoying the dance and the music, relaxed attitude and body, the rhythm of the music and a good connection between the dancers.
Teachers: Felipe Morato and Annariikka Kyllönen
Felipe & Annariikka teach Forró, a heartwarming Brazilian pair dance. They studied Forró in Brazil and dance and somatics in Finland. When teaching, they like to use principles and exercises from somatics to ease and support the learning while also bringing more awereness to the inner experience of the dance, connection with the partner and body awereness. Together with a solid Forró technique, these elements make it possible to feel more joy and pleasure when dancing.
