In this course we combine salsa with movements from afro-cuban dances. Classes are danced into Cuban salsa/Timba music.

Afro-cuban dances have been born from the rich cultural heritage of African diaspora.

Course is good for dancers that already have their solo salsa basics in place and who want to learn more about afro-cuban dances and to enrich their their movement with afro-elements

What if I can’t participate every week?

Absences from classes can be made up during the same term in any other class or drop-in session. This way, no dance session will be wasted! Read more.

What should I bring with me?

For the class, it is recommended to wear clothes that are comfortable to move around in. You can dance with indoor sneakers, dance shoes, or socks. Take your water bottle with you.

Roberto La Rosa Martinez

Roberto “Robe” La Rosa Martinez is a Cuban dancer and dance teacher whose sunny classes are full of joy and positive energy cannot be avoided!

Robe was born in Havana, and started performing as a child with the famous Tony Menendez in various companies, before studying at the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), the prestigious Cuban National School of Art, where he graduated as a professional dancer.

Robe combines his uncompromising professionalism with his own true love of dance. and teaching and confidence in finding one’s own dance style and – most importantly – the joy of dance.
