Description

You can dance in your socks, toe pads or dancing shoes. Normal comfortable and stretchy clothes are fine for the classes, just remember to bring a water bottle as well!

We do some floorwork during the course, so it is a good idea to bring knee pads or leg warmers to protect your knees during these sessions. You can buy knee pads from our online shop, or at our studio (30 €/pair).

Reggaeton

Reggaeton is a Latin dance and music style born in the 1990s and it has been influenced by different dance styles, for example South and Middle American dances, such as dancehall, various Afro dances as well as hip hop. The roots of the reggaeton dance are for example in Panama, Puerto Rico and Cuba.

Reggaeton is characterized by strong dynamic fluctuations, polyrhythmics and playing with chest and hip isolation in particular. Both strong accents and soft sensual movements are present and they alternate in reggaeton. Reggaeton classes are full of power, energy and attitude!

Mirka Saali

Mirka has a long history of different dance styles. She started dancing at the age of seven with ballroom dancing and continued until her teenage years. Mirka found dancing again in 2010, and she fell in love with Latin dances, especially Cuban dances. After that, she has danced many different dance styles. However, Show Burlesque took her heart and gave a whole new meaning for dancing.

As a teacher, Mirka is compelling and purposeful but still easy-going. There is always a cheerful atmosphere in the classes. It is important to Mirka that the joy of dancing is present in her teaching, as well as the enjoyment of the music, own movements and the crossing of boundaries.

Mirka has taught different kinds of Latin dances and Show Burlesque at Flama from 2018.
