Vilma Kivekäs’ Lyrical Dance Course for Beginners in Spring 2024

In Vilma’s Lyrical Dance Course for Beginners, you can throw yourself into an emotional choreography and enjoy interpreting music through dance. During the classes, you get to release your emotions through dance. Lyrical Dance has been influenced by Contemporary Dance.

This course starts from the very basics, so you do not need to have any previous dance experience to join.

Time: On Wednesdays 13.3.–22.5.2024 at 16:15–17:10

The course fee includes 10 x 55 min sessions. There is no class on the 1st of May 2024.

Lyrical Dance

In this Lyrical Dance course, you can throw yourself into an emotional choreography and enjoy interpreting music through dance. The classes include exercises in Contemporary and Jazz Dance Techniques and Choreography. In Lyrical dance, the choreography is strongly based on the melody and beats of the music and the lyrics of the song.

Vilma Kivekäs

Vilma is a dance teacher who graduated from Oulu University of Applied Sciences in spring 2021. Her path led her to Oulu, where she had the opportunity to focus her studies on show dance. However, Vilma is enthusiastic and interested in many different dance genres. Teaching dance is Vilma’s passion, and she wants to share the joy of dance with people of all ages.

As a dance teacher, Vilma has been described as nice, lovely and skilful. When asked for some feedback, dancers have told that she meets the dancers as themselves and that her classes have a warm atmosphere. In addition, dancers describe that Vilma’s teaching is all about being gracious about what you do, but still knowing how to challenge everyone on their own level.

Vilma likes to create a fun, safe and evolving atmosphere in her classes. She is enthusiastic and inspiring and constantly wants to develop and learn interactively, drawing inspiration from different directions.
