Son is an elegant Cuban music and dance style that is often called as “the mother of salsa”, as Cuban salsa has provided the basis for Cuban salsa. Son is considered to have developed from changüí music, which was a mixture of Spanish canción and African rhythm music. Son is danced with a different rhythm from salsa. The intermediate son classes is suitable for intermediate salsa dancers.
