At BachataStart, you can get your first taste of couple bachata and experience the warm atmosphere of the Friday night party at the Flama Salsa Festival.
The charismatic Ramón Silverio will be performing at Friday’s party, with thrilling dance performances on stage and DJs keeping the energy high until late into the night.
No previous dance experience is necessary. You can sign up alone or with a partner. Partners rotate in a circle during the class. You are also welcome to dance only with your own partner if you prefer.

Bachata is a sensual and emotional dance and music style that originally comes from the Dominican Republic. Bachata is now a highly popular dance with various styles: traditional Dominican style, sensual bachata, bachata moderna, and bachata fusion, which combines different styles. The dance style at BachataStart is sensual bachata.
In the beginner’s class for couple bachata, we’ll practice the basic steps of bachata, rhythm, a few simple basic patterns, and leading and following techniques—and above all, we’ll get excited about the wonderful world of bachata!
There is a voluntary exchange circle, where you swap pairs during the class. You can also dance with your own partner for the whole class if you wish.
The class is taught by Pinja Simola, a bachata instructor at Tanssistudio Flama, who has been teaching dance since 2015. Her love for bachata and the music itself has also led Pinja to work as a bachata DJ both in Finland and occasionally abroad. She is also responsible for the music on the bachata dance floor at the evening parties of the Flama Salsa Festival.
Flama Salsa Festival will be held on 18.–20.9.2026 at Naantali Spa.
