Would you like to try the wonderful Cuban Couple Salsa and feel the atmosphere of the salsa festivals? Flama Salsa Festival also welcomes beginners!
At SalsaStart you can get your first taste of Couple Salsa and experience the warm atmosphere of the evening parties at the Flama Salsa Festival.
Saturday’s party will feature the Cuban timba supergroup Habana Helsinki, who will serve up an irresistible mix of skill, sizzling chemistry, and a killer groove that’s sure to get you dancing. The stage will also feature a dance show by the charismatic Alain Morales and other dance performances. The DJs will make sure the energy stays through the roof until dawn.
No previous dance experience is necessary. You can sign up alone or with a partner. Partners rotate in a circle during the class. You are also welcome to dance only with your own partner if you prefer.
Anyone can participate in all Flama´s partner classes as a leader or follower, regardless of gender identity.
The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon and dive into the world of salsa!

In this beginner’s lesson you will practice the basic steps of the Cuban couple salsa; casino, rhythm, a few simple basic patterns and the technique of exporting and following – and above all, get excited about the wonderful salsa!
There is a voluntary exchange circle, where you swap pairs during the class. You can also dance with your own partner for the whole class if you wish.
The teacher is Anna Ketopaikka, founder of Dance Studio Flama, who has been dancing Cuban salsa for over 15 years and has been teaching couple salsa since 2014.
Flama Salsa Festival will be held on 18.–20.9.2026 at Naantali Spa.
