Kesärauha Festival: Parking and Traffic Arrangements (5–17 June)
Parking at the Linnankatu Studio
From 5 June until 17 June, the parking spaces behind the Linnankatu studio building will be unavailable due to the Kesärauha Festival. Twelve replacement parking spaces are available in the parking area along Neljäs Linja, next to the Port of Turku bus station. Access from the replacement parking area to the studio is via Toinen Linja and Linnankatu (the roundabout), as the section of Satamakatu in front of Turku Castle Park is completely closed.
Traffic Arrangements Around Turku Castle
Due to the festival, access along Linnankatu, Nuottasaarenkatu and Satamakatu is closed to both motor vehicles and pedestrians and cyclists. Turku Castle Park is also closed and cannot be used as a through route.
As a result, pedestrians and cyclists travelling to the Linnankatu studio between 5 and 17 June must use the route via Vallihaudankatu and Satamakatu.
Those arriving by bus can reach the studio from the Viking Line terminal bus stop via Toinen Poikkikatu and Linnankatu.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the roadworks and festival arrangements.

Access via Linnankatu Closed Between 28 April and 18 June
Extensive roadworks are being carried out at the port end of Linnankatu. From 28 April onwards, access to the Port of Turku and Flama’s Linnankatu studio by car is possible only via the detour route through Tukholmankatu and Pansiontie. Access to the Port of Turku via Linnankatu is closed from April 28 to June 18, 2026. The closure does not affect public transport, pedestrians or cyclists.
Please note that the on-street parking spaces along Neljäs Linja next to the port bus station will also be unavailable until the week beginning 15 June.

Access by car
From 28 April onwards, traffic arriving from Turku city centre will be diverted via Tukholmankatu and Pansiontie to Juhana Herttuan Puistokatu and further to Satamakatu. The detour route is signposted starting from Koulukatu.
Flama’s parking spaces behind the studio building remain available during the roadworks, and there are also parking spaces available along Satamakatu. Access to Flama’s parking area is via the port bus station. During the Kesärauha Festival (5–17 June), Flama’s own parking spaces will be unavailable. Replacement parking spaces are available on Neljäs Linja next to the port bus station. Access from the replacement parking area to the studio is via Toinen Linja and Linnankatu, as the area in front of Turku Castle Park is fenced off from traffic.
Please note that the on-street parking spaces on Neljäs Linja, opposite the port bus station, will be unavailable until the week beginning 15 June.
Access by bus
Public transport services (Föli) are able to pass through the construction area, and the closure of Linnankatu between 28 April and 18 June does not affect bus services. During the roadworks, the most convenient stop for reaching the studio is the Viking Line terminal bus stop, which is approximately a six-minute walk from the studio. The bus stops previously located directly in front of the studio remain out of service.
During the Kesärauha Festival (5–17 June), access from the Viking Line terminal bus stop to the studio is via Toinen Poikkikatu and Linnankatu.
Access by bike or on foot
During the Kesärauha Festival (5–17 June), access along Linnankatu, Nuottasaarenkatu and Satamakatu is closed to both motor vehicles and pedestrians and cyclists. Turku Castle Park is also closed and cannot be used as a through route. Therefore, pedestrians and cyclists travelling to the Linnankatu studio between 5 and 17 June must use the route via Vallihaudankatu and Satamakatu.
During the closure of Linnankatu (28 April–18 June), a pedestrian route through the construction area is signposted for people arriving from the city centre. Cyclists may either walk their bicycles through this section or follow the signposted route past Forum Marinum. Outside the Kesärauha Festival period, pedestrians and cyclists can still reach the studio from the city centre via Turku Castle Park and Nuottasaarenkatu, which runs between Turku Castle and the Aura River. When arriving from the Herttuankulma area, please use either the route through Turku Castle Park or the detour route to Linnankatu.
Please allow a little extra time for your journey so that classes can begin on schedule. Thank you for your understanding.
