Katrin Vaskelainen is a long-time dancer, dance teacher and Choreographer. Her dance style is multidimensional due to her versatile dance background, as she has danced since she was little, from ballet through folk dance to jazz dance and from contemporary dance to competition dance to hip hop.
Katrin has gathered experiences and investments both in Finland and abroad. She has worked as a teacher, choreographer, judge and performer As a dancer, she has been seen, for example, in theater productions (e.g. Turku City Theatre, Pyyniki Summer Theater, Rauma City Theatre), ship shows, the Finnish National Opera, backing artists (e.g. Antti Tuisku, Krista Siegfrids, Laura Voutilainen, Sanni, Jenni Vartiainen, Club for Five ) and in music videos. As a choreographer, she has left her mark on Finland’s top artists (e.g. Maija Vilkkumaa, Krista Siegfrids, Club for Five, Jannika B and Elastinen) and television productions (e.g. The Voice of Finland, Talent Suomi, Posse and Tanssii Tähtien Kanssa).
As a teacher, Katrin wants to invest not only in the technique of dance, but also in finding one’s own danceability through music, dynamics and interpretation. She is a warm-hearted cheerleader who pushes everyone to take their next step in dance. Katrin hopes that when you leave the class, you will be left with a feeling of success and learning, which will provide you with tools for your next dance experiences.
Forecast for the coming summer: lots of dancing and sunshine! ☀️ Flama’s summer schedule has now been released. The summer season will be danced from June 1 to August 23, 2026. This summer, there will be a whole range of different short courses, drop-in classes, and of course, the popular park classes!
On your wedding day, many things can feel nerve-wracking but your wedding dance doesn’t have to be one of them! At Flama’s one-time wedding waltz course, you’ll practice the traditional waltz starting from the very basics. The course will give you confidence in your dance steps and help you learn the fundamentals of the waltz.
