Description

You can dance in your socks, toe pads or dancing shoes. Normal comfortable and stretchy clothes are fine for the classes, just remember to bring a water bottle as well! We do some floorwork during the course, so it is a good idea to bring knee pads or leg warmers to protect your knees during these sessions. You can buy knee pads from our online shop, or at our studio (30 €/pair).

Reggaeton

Reggaeton is a Latin dance and music style born in the 1990s and it has been influenced by different dance styles, for example South and Middle American dances, such as dancehall, various Afro dances as well as hip hop. The roots of the reggaeton dance are for example in Panama, Puerto Rico and Cuba.

Reggaeton is characterized by strong dynamic fluctuations, polyrhythmics and playing with chest and hip isolation in particular. Both strong accents and soft sensual movements are present and they alternate in reggaeton. Reggaeton classes are full of power, energy and attitude!

During the classes, you can dance with dance sneakers or other indoor shoes. Please bring a water bottle and comfortable clothes with you.

Meri Niemi

As a teacher, Meri is an easy-going person who encourages her students to go above and beyond. Classes are serious, but with a twinkle in the eye – often filled with laughter and humour as well as dance. Meri thinks that the best thing in her classes is absolutely to see how people go beyond themselves and do something they could not even believed to be possible.

Meri’s favourite motto, often heard in the dance hall, is: own style best style, own moves best moves and own party best party! Meri’s goal as a teacher is that every dancer should dare to be inspired by their own unique movement language and be exactly who they are at that moment.< <3
