Description
What if I can’t participate every week?
Absences from classes can be made up during the same term in any other class or drop-in session. This way, no dance session will be wasted! Read more.
What should I bring with me?
For the class, it is recommended to wear clothes that are comfortable to move around in. You can dance with indoor sneakers, dance shoes, or socks. If you are coming to class with your baby, please bring your own baby carrier. Also bring a water bottle with you.
Baby Latino
During our Baby Latino classes, you can dance and have fun together with the baby. Baby Latino is a dance session for adults and babies, where both can enjoy movement and rhythm. Adults also get to work up a sweat and meet others in the same situation. The classes are open to both parents of babies and other adults important to the baby.
The classes are held in a cheerful atmosphere, with easy and fun moves to salsa, bachata, merengue, cha-cha, and reggaeton rhythms.
The class is especially meant for 2–12 months old babies and their parents and close ones. During the class, the baby is carried in a baby carrier or sling in an adult’s arms. The class is also very suitable for someone who is pregnant, particularly if harder exercising has started to feel challenging.
Mirka Saali
Mirka has been dancing different dance styles for a long time. She started dancing at the age of seven with ballroom dancing and continued until her teenage years. She found dance again in 2010 and fell in love with latin dances, especially Cuban dances. Since then, Mirka has explored and danced many different styles.
As a teacher, Mirka is compelling and purposeful but still easy-going. There is always a cheerful and enthusiastic atmosphere in Mirka’s classes. For Mirka, the most important thing in teaching is the joy of dance, enjoying the music and her own movement, and pushing her own boundaries.
Mirka has been instructing various dance classes at Flama since 2018, and she currently leads three of Flama’s performing dance groups: Flama Crew, Flaming Firecrackers, and La Calentura.
