He has performed and taught across Europe, collaborated with numerous internationally acclaimed artists, and danced with Alberto Valdés’ Clave Negra group. He has also appeared in the film StreetDance 2.

The intermediate level is suitable for you if you have been practicing the sport regularly and actively for at least a couple of years. You have a good grasp of the basics of the sport.

Shango is one of the best-known and most powerful Orishas in the Afro-Cuban Yoruba tradition. He rules over fire, thunder, drumming and dance, and represents powerful sexual energy, moral courage and justice. Shango’s dance is energetic, dynamic and proud, combining strong postures, quick changes of direction and grounded movement with the deep connection to drum rhythms that is characteristic of all Orisha dances.
In this class, we will explore Shango’s characteristic movement vocabulary, rhythm and expression. We will work on body movement, coordination, footwork, and the powerful and symbolic use of the arms and upper body. The dance emphasizes confidence, presence and energetic expression.
Salsa Musicality (solo)
In the Solo Salsa class, we will use choreography to explore movement variations and body movement in Cuban Salsa, with a special focus on musicality and interpreting the music. The class is suitable for dancers who have a solid command of the basics of Solo Salsa.
Cuban Son, or Son Cubano, is one of Cuba’s most important and influential music and dance styles. It is an elegant Cuban style often referred to as the “mother” of Salsa, as Cuban Son forms the foundation of Cuban Salsa. The timing of the steps and movements in Son is contratiempo, meaning it differs from Salsa. The steps are taken on counts 8-2-3 and 4-6-7, rather than the 1-2-3 and 5-6-7 timing used in Cuban Salsa.
In the Couple Salsa with Rumba class, we will combine Cuban Rumba with Couple Salsa, learning how to incorporate Rumba movement and expression into dancing with a partner. Guaguancó is the most popular and widely known style of Cuban Rumba. It is a playful and flirtatious couple dance that includes a symbolic “attempt at seduction” known as the vacunao (“vaccination”). The class is suitable for intermediate-level dancers with at least two years of experience in Cuban partner Salsa.
Alain graduated as a contemporary dancer in Cuba in 1998 from the Narciso Medina Company. In the same year, he won several Grand Prix awards as well as the prestigious Alicia Alonso Choreography Award. Early in his career, he deepened his knowledge of Cuban culture and folkloric dance under the guidance of master teacher Jonnes “JJ” Garzia and performed at the legendary Tropicana cabaret.
In 2000, Alain moved to Italy and joined the Irè Batà dance company, where Maykel Fonts also made his debut. Alain has worked with several internationally renowned artists. In 2005, he joined the Latin Black group, led by Seo Fernández, where he danced with artists including Yunaisy Farray.
Alain also appeared in the film StreetDance 2 and has worked extensively as a dancer and performer at festivals and theatres across Europe. From 2007 to 2012, he lived in Norway, teaching Cuban culture and contemporary dance to both adults and children.
In 2013, he joined the internationally renowned Clave Negra dance company, led by master dancer Alberto Valdés. Today, Alain works as an independent artist and is a regular name at some of Europe’s most prominent salsa festivals.
Alain is known for his strong stage charisma, technical precision, and deep understanding of Cuban dance traditions.
