Bournonville

The Bournonville technique is a ballet technique named after the Danish ballet master and choreographer August Bournonville.

Bournonville is a romantic style that strives for a flowing movement vocabulary, characterized by the abundant use of petit allegros, rapid footwork, and natural yet distinctive use of the head and arms.

In this course, we will explore both the Bournonville class series named after the days of the week and the repertoire itself, in the form of his most famous ballets.

Lyylia Koivuniemi

Lyylia is a dance teacher and professional dancer born in Turku. She studied at the Royal Danish Ballet School and the National Opera Ballet School and competed internationally before becoming a professional dancer.
