Absences from classes can be made up during the same term in any other class or drop-in session. This way, no dance session will be wasted! Read more.
What should I bring with me?
For the class, it is recommended to wear clothes that are comfortable to move around in. You can dance with indoor sneakers, dance shoes, or socks. Also take a water bottle with you and remember to drink enough after class.
Cuban solo salsa
Cuban salsa is based in particularly on Cuban son: a music and dance style from the early 20th century that combines African rhythms (e.g., clave, call and response structure, percussion instruments) and Spanish melodic influences (e.g., guitars, singing). Cuban salsa is a rich mix of music and movement, with influences from Cuban rumba, mambo, cha-cha-chá, and other Cuban and Afro-Cuban rhythms and dances.
Salsa is a happy and energetic dance where the main thing is to have fun to the rhythm of catchy music. Salsa Solo is a fun way to enjoy music and movement.
Roberto La Rosa Martinez
Roberto “Robe” La Rosa Martinez. Roberto “Robe” La Rosa Martinez is a Cuban dancer and dance teacher whose sunny classes are full of joy and positive energy cannot be avoided!
Robe was born in Havana, and started performing as a child with the famous Tony Menendez in various companies, before studying at the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), the prestigious Cuban National School of Art, where he graduated as a professional dancer.
Robe combines his uncompromising professionalism with his own true love of dance. and teaching and confidence in finding one’s own dance style and – most importantly – the joy of dance.
