Japs: Dancehall Workshops / Sat 25.4.

Welcome to have fun Jamaican style! In these workshops, we dance dancehall, a street dance style that originated in Jamaica and continues to evolve there. Dancehall is a combination of tight accents, explosive energy, smooth movement and, above all, attitude.

13:15–14:30 Dancehall Unisex (beginners)
14:45–16:00 Dancehall Unisex (intermediate)

Place: Flama Rauhankatu (Rauhankatu 15, Turku)

The beginner-level workshop is suitable for starting dancers who have some dance experience in any style or another movement background. In the class, you will be introduced to steps created by Jamaican dancers and the multifaceted movement language of dancehall.

The intermediate-level workshop is suitable for those who have previously attended dancehall classes. In the session, you will deepen your dancehall knowledge, skills, and flow, and dance together with others to a sequence designed by Japs that combines the right balance of challenge and fun.
