In January 2027, Tanssistudio Flama welcomes you to Matias Löyttyniemi’s Rueda Weekend.
Come and enjoy wonderful salsa in the form of rueda! In rueda de casino, dancers form a circle (= rueda), led by one person calling out the moves. Partners change on the fly, and it’s impossible not to smile.
The classes are designed for intermediate-level couple salsa dancers. To join this weekend, you’ll need strong foundations in Cuban couple salsa (at least one year of experience dancing couple salsa). Partners rotate continuously in all classes, including the Salsa Flow classes.
Matias is Finland’s most experienced rueda instructor. With him, we’ll explore flow-focused rueda, creating continuous energy and movement in the dance while sharing the moment as a group. Get ready for a deep dive into the wonderful world of rueda!
Flama’s Rueda Weekend includes 8 hours of dance classes and Saturday’s Timba Night party. The teaching progresses throughout the weekend, and registration is for the full three-day programme. This allows the group to build on what they have learned from one class to the next. Tickets for individual classes are not available.
The classes are intended for intermediate-level couple salsa dancers who have been dancing salsa for at least one year. You should therefore have a solid foundation in Cuban partner salsa to take part in the weekend.

On Saturday evening, everyone is welcome to join the Timba Night salsa party at Flama Linnankatu (Linnankatu 84).
The party begins with a pre-party rueda class from 19.00–20.00, for Rueda Weekend participants.
The party takes place from 20.00–24.00.

For more than ten years, Matias has travelled across Finland sharing his passion for salsa and rueda from one city to another. As a teacher, he is known for his inspiring energy, clear teaching style and strong pedagogical approach. He teaches dancers at every level, from complete beginners to dance teacher training, always offering something new to learn and plenty of inspiration.
Above all, Matias emphasises connection between partners, musical interpretation and the joy of dancing. His classes progress naturally from technique to dancing, combining his deep understanding of dance and music built over more than 20 years of experience, both as a dancer and a musician.
