Cuban Salsa bodywork: meneo
In this workshop we will delve into a juicy meneo that invites you to let loose and totally let go of control!
We’ll discover how to relax into the whirl of the meneo and bring the dance to life, spicing it up as if straight from Havana.
You will learn how these movements are interpreted in Timba music -> what “bomba” means and why it is essential for both partner and solo dance.
Menéate!🔥
Taso: avoin – workshopeille ovat tervetulleita kaikki, joilla on jo salsan perusaskeleet hallussa
Kuubalainen soolosalsa
This workshop will delve into the movement language of Cuban solo salsa. We will practice the technique, style and expression that are characteristic of Cuban salsa – without forgetting relaxation and enjoyment.
Tunnilla työstetään koreografiaa, ja keskitytään siihen, miten saamme tuotua tanssiimme persoonallisuutta ja juurevuutta, jotka kumpuavat yhteydestä omaan kehoon ja musiikkiin.
Taso: Keskitaso – sopii vähintään parin vuoden ajan salsaa tanssineille.
Emma kertoo itsestään:
“My roots take me to the cold north, but my insides have been thoroughly digested by Afro-Cuban rhythms.
I first came into contact with self-expression through dance at the age of six, and the themes around music, rhythm and physicality have always carried and coloured my life.
In my classes, we take the focus away from choreography and step execution toward rooted, quality movement, as less but well done will carry you further than too much done in a hurry.
Strengthening our own body connection helps us to find the depth in our dance that Cuban body language is all about.
Agua!!”
