What if I can’t participate every week?<\/h3>\n

Absences from classes can be made up during the same term in any other class or drop-in session. This way, no dance session will be wasted! Read more.<\/a><\/p>\n

What should I bring with me?<\/h3>\n

For the class, it is recommended to wear clothes that are comfortable to move around in. You can dance with indoor sneakers, dance shoes, or socks. Also take a water bottle with you and remember to drink enough after class.<\/p>\n

Commercial Dance<\/h3>\n

Commercial dance classes seek to cultivate a bold attitude reminiscent of music videos, combining and utilizing techniques from different dance styles. The main focus of the classes is on dancing choreographies, but we also practice the techniques needed for choreography and focus on performing and developing and trusting your own unique body language. The course lets you throw yourself into different styles of choreography and have fun together!<\/p>\n

Vilma Karttunen<\/h3>\n

Vilma is a dance teacher who graduated from Oulu University of Applied Sciences in spring 2021. Her path led her to Oulu, where she had the opportunity to focus on Show Dance. However, Vilma is enthusiastic and interested in many different dance styles. Teaching is Vilma’s passion, and she wants to share the joy of dance with people of all ages.<\/p>\n

As a dance teacher, Vilma has been described as nice, lovely and skillful. When asked for some feedback, dancers have told that she meets the dancers as themselves and that her classes have a warm atmosphere. In addition, dancers describe that Vilma’s teaching is all about being gracious about what you do, but still knowing how to challenge everyone on their own level.<\/p>\n

Vilma likes to create a fun, safe and evolving atmosphere in her classes. She is enthusiastic and inspiring and constantly wants to develop and learn interactively, drawing inspiration from different directions.<\/p>\n

Would you like to dance like the star of your own music video? In Commercial Dance classes, we combine and use techniques from various dance styles while cultivating a bold, music video-inspired attitude. In this course, we dance to hits from past and present years and immerse ourselves in a choreography designed by Vilma. In addition to dance skills, you will practice expression and discovering your own movement language.<\/p>\n

This course is suitable for those who already have some dance experience, for example, those who have participated in a beginner’s course in commercial dance.<\/p>\n
