What if I can’t participate every week?<\/h3>\n

Absences from classes can be made up during the same term in any other class or drop-in session. This way, no dance session will be wasted! Read more.<\/a><\/p>\n

What should I bring with me?<\/h3>\n

For the class, it is recommended to wear clothes that are comfortable to move around in. You can dance with indoor sneakers, dance shoes, or socks. Also take a water bottle with you and remember to drink enough after class.<\/p>\n

Oriental Dance<\/h3>\n

Oriental Dance, also known as belly dance, is a soft dance style that is based on folk and feminine solo dances from Middle East and North Africa. The dance class focuses on the basic movements of oriental dance, its body language and the use of the head, shoulders and hands.<\/p>\n

Ilona Carlsson<\/h3>\n

Ilona is a popular teacher, choreographer and performer of Egyptian style. She is inspiring and dedicated; a professional who respects the traditions of the dance and is able to take into account the level of her students in her teaching. The classes are engaging, diverse, and varied, offering an introduction to the different styles, techniques, and rhythms of Egyptian dance. Ilona\u2019s knowledge of the dance is extensive, and she shares all that knowledge with others and constantly develops her skills as well.<\/p>\n

The main focus of Ilona\u2019s teaching is primarily on proper dance technique, but she also emphasizes the mind, the joy of dance, and physical well-being in her classes. Ilona\u2019s choreographies always honor dance traditions and the deepest essence of dance: in Ilona\u2019s view, Eastern dance is the most beautiful form of feminine solo dance in the world.<\/p>\n

In this course, you\u2019ll be introduced to the wonderfully fluid art of belly dance under the inspiring guidance of Ilona. During the classes, you\u2019ll practice the basic movements of belly dance and the unique body language of the dance, as well as use a oriental dance wand as a prop and an integral part of the dance.<\/p>\n

This course is suitable for beginners. You can join without any previous dance experience. You don’t need to bring your own wand to class; you can borrow one from the studio.<\/p>\n
