What if I can’t participate every week?<\/h3>\n

Absences from classes can be made up during the same term in any other class or drop-in session. This way, no dance session will be wasted! Read more.<\/a> <\/p>\n

What should I bring with me?<\/h3>\n

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and feel good.<\/p>\n

Please bring also a long-sleeved shirt for floor exercises. You don\u2019t need separate dance shoes, as the class is done in socks. Remember to bring a water bottle. <\/p>\n

Lyrical Dance<\/h3>\n

In Lyrical Dance classes, you immerse yourself in expressive choreography and enjoy interpreting music through dance. The classes include contemporary and jazz dance technique exercises and rotating choreographies. In the choreographies, you practice expression and different movement qualities, such as flowing and accentuated movements. In lyrical dance, the choreographies are strongly built around the melody, accents, and lyrics of the music. <\/p>\n

Vilma Karttunen<\/h3>\n

Vilma is a dance teacher who graduated from Oulu University of Applied Sciences in spring 2021. Her path led her to Oulu, where she had the opportunity to focus on Show Dance. However, Vilma is enthusiastic and interested in many different dance styles. Teaching dance is Vilma’s passion, and she wants to share the joy of dance with people of all ages.<\/p>\n

As a dance teacher, Vilma has been described as nice, lovely and skillful. When asked for some feedback, dancers have told that she meets the dancers as themselves and that her classes have a warm atmosphere. In addition, dancers describe that Vilma’s teaching is all about being gracious about what you do, but still knowing how to challenge everyone on their own level.<\/p>\n

Vilma likes to create a fun, safe and evolving atmosphere in her classes. She is enthusiastic and inspiring and she constantly wants to develop and learn interactively by drawing inspiration from different directions.<\/p>\n

In Vilma’s beginner lyrical dance course, you’ll get to groove to sensitive and emotionally rich songs from the music world and let your feelings run wild thru dance. Lyrical dance takes influences from contemporary dance, among others. <\/p>\n

This course is suitable for beginners. You can join without any previous dance experience.<\/p>\n
