Next weekend Dance Studio Flama will be filled with Latin rhythms. Have you always wanted to try salsa? How about starting couple salsa as a new hobby? Or have you already danced before and you would like to go deeper into salsa and bachata? Now both new beginners and those who have already some previous experience of Latin dances have an opportunity to enjoy Latin rhythms in our intensive courses: on Saturday, December 2 a vising dance teacher, Jharyis Boitel, will come to our studio to teach solo and couple salsa as well as bachata, whereas Anna Tolppa will organize a couple salsa course for new beginners on Sunday, December 3. Saturday, December 2: Jharyis Boitel’s Salsa & Bachata Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jharyis Boitel is a visiting dance teacher who started dancing salsa, merengue, vallenato, champeta, tambores, joropo, break dancing, trance, house and other dance styles at the age of 10 and he has been teaching salsa, merengue and bachata for over 15 years. He is currently teaching inter alia in Helsinki Salsa Academy.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, there are three classes of 1,5 hours available. You can either sign up for one class or even for all of them. The classes are
\nat 12.00-13.30 Salsa Solo Class \u2013 Musicality, Techniques & Shines
\nat 13.45-15.15 Couple Salsa Intermediate Class \u2013 On1
\nat 15.15-16.45 Bachata Intermediate Class<\/p>\n

There are still places available for Jharyis’ salsa solo class, so everyone is more than welcome to join. Also all the leaders can still sign up for both couple salsa and bachata classes. Unfortunately we can not take more followers at this point but if you sign up with your own pair, you can still participate in the classes. Jharyis Boitel’s\u00a0intensive workshop is designed to challenge your mind and body. It combines different elements of salsa and bachata dancing to create a challenging, fun and energetic dance experience. On the weekend, you will learn various shines and footwork patterns, men and ladies styling, ability to interpret and adapt to different styles and tempo of salsa and bachata music as well as to build confidence in yourself and to improve self awareness. Sunday, December 3: Couple Salsa Beginners’ Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have you always wanted to learn to dance couple salsa? This intensive course starts from the very basics, so you do not need any prior knowledge about salsa dancing. The course is instructed by Anna Tolppa who is always willing to teach in English when there are people who do not speak Finnish. Start a new great hobby and come and have fun with us!<\/p>\n

During the course, you will get familiar with the basic steps of couple salsa and we will practice rhythmics, some simple figures as well as techniques of both leading and following.<\/p>\n

Time: Sunday, December 3 from 1pm to 3pm
\nPlace: Dance Studio Flama, Linnankatu 84
\nPrice: 25 \/ 20 \u20ac (students, seniors)<\/p>\n

You can sign up for the course with or without a pair. The principle of the class is to change the pair all the time, so that everyone gets to dance. However, if you want to dance only with your own pair, that is also possible. Just let the instructor know about this in the beginning of the course. And yes, you don’t need to have had any previous dance experience prior to this course.<\/p>\n
