Reggaeton is a Latin dance and music style born in the 1990s and it has been influenced by different dance styles, for example South and Middle American dances, such as dancehall, various Afro dances as well as hip hop The roots of the reggaeton dance are for example in Panama, Puerto Rico and Cuba.
Reggaeton is characterized by strong dynamic fluctuations, polyrhythmics and playing with chest and hip isolation in particular. Both strong accents and soft sensual movements are present and they alternate in reggaeton. inter alia in Panama, Puerto Rico and Cuba. Reggaeton classes are full of power, energy and attitude!
Mirka Saali
Mirka has a long history of different dance styles. She started dancing at the age of seven with ballroom dancing and continued until her teenage years. She found dance again in 2010 and got into Latin rhythms, especially Cuban dances. After that, she has tried various dance styles, such as Broadway, twerk, pole dance and different couple dances. However, Show Burlesque took her heart and gave a whole new meaning for dancing. None of Mirka’s classes is identical. Years of experience is reflected in insightful and skilled choreographies that have been inspired by all the dance styles Mirka has danced. As a teacher, Mirka is compelling and purposeful but still easy-going. There is always a cheerful atmosphere in the classes. For Mirka the most important thing in teaching is the joy of dancing, enjoying the music and your own movement, and crossing the boundaries of different dance styles
