Description
Katri started competitive dancing at the age of seven in Estonia, from where she moved to Oulu and was coached by Jukka Haapalainen and Sirpa Suutari-Jääskö. Already early on, Katri wanted to specialize in Latin dances, which have been the closest to her heart since childhood. Katri won her first Finnish championship as a junior, after which she continued her competitive dance studies in London. Katri has also lived in Rome, where she was able to train with the world’s top coaches. During her competitive dance career, Katri has won five times FS (Finnish Championship) gold in Latin dances and represented Finland in the European and World Cups, EC and WC competitions as well as numerous IDSF international competitions, e.g. in Los Angeles, Miami, Melbourne, Shanghai and most of the European countries.
Katri has also worked as a dance teacher e.g. in the Finnish version of Dancing with the Stars. She has won the Finnish version of Dancing with the Starts with her dance partner Pete Parkkonen in 2014 and with Edis Tatlin in 2018.
