Hanna-Maija Pääkkönen is a long-time dancer and dance teacher and the founder of Helsinki-based dance school Studio Tambor. Hanna-Maija has studied dance since early childhood. She has worked full-time in dance both in Finland and in Latin America since 2002.
In addition to teaching, she works as a performing dance artist and artistic director of the Textual Motion Company. Hanna-Maija is also a doctor of regional and cultural studies specializing in the region of Latin America. To her, the knowledge of the cultural history of the dance styles she teaches is very important.
Hanna-Maija is known as an inspiring teacher whose love for dance is strongly transmitted to her students.
